Real ingredients from local farmers. Seasonal menus built around what's growing nearby. Warm hospitality that makes every guest feel like a regular.
Our kitchen team arrives at 5am to prep everything from scratch. No shortcuts, no shortcuts — just great food made with intention.
The Hearth & Table started in 2018 as a 30-seat neighborhood bistro on South Lamar. Chef Maria Sandoval grew up watching her grandmother cook from the garden, and that ethos never left her. Today, she sources ingredients from 14 local farms within 60 miles of Austin.
We change our menu with the seasons — not because it's trendy, but because it's how food should work. When summer's tomatoes are perfect, we serve them simply. When winter citrus hits, you'll find it throughout the menu. Food that follows the seasons just tastes better.
View Full Menu"Hands down the best dinner I've had in Austin. The short rib is something else — fall-off-the-bone and deeply flavored. Maria's team clearly cares about every detail."
"We came for date night and ended up returning twice more that month. The seasonal menu keeps it fresh — every visit feels new. The burrata salad alone is worth the trip."
"Finally a restaurant that actually sources local. I can taste the difference. The staff knew where every ingredient came from. Refreshing, delicious, and beautifully presented."
We're open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday, and brunch on weekends. Walk-ins welcome, but a reservation guarantees your preferred time and table.
